The Parent Handbook contains information about: History and governance, staff, pastoral care, student conduct, privacy, secondary school studies, co-curricular activities, fees and insurance, the Parents and Friends’ Association and the Past Pupils’ Association Inc., procedures and services.
The School Counsellor is available to offer confidential personal counselling and advice to students, within the context of a supportive and caring relationship, helping students with a wide range of issues, including individual concerns and worries, relationship difficulties in groups and between friends, study and time management issues, and academic and learning needs.
The School Counsellor can also:
- recognise and assist with the social, emotional, academic and learning needs of individual students effecting their psychological wellbeing and school performance
- consult and liaise between students, parents and teachers as required
- provide information on relevant referral options, and liaise with other professionals and support services within the community
- support and provide informative input to pastoral care programs within the school
Appointments can be made by students directly with the School Counsellor, before or after school or during morning tea and lunch breaks, at the School Counsellor’s office on the top level of the Gonzaga Barry Building.
