The safety of the students in our care is paramount, and each of us has an important responsibility in enacting our Student Protection policy and processes. All members of the College community has a responsibility to be aware of the key risk indicators of abuse, neglect and grooming, to be observant and to raise any concerns they may have relating to student protection with the Principal or one of our dedicated Student Protection Officers: Mrs Kim Wickham, Ms Annie Diamond or Mrs Jan Kearney and/or report to the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs on 1800 811 810 or 13 QGOV (13 74 68).

The College values the contribution of all members of the Loreto community who volunteer their time and effort. The Volunteer Code of Conduct confirms Loreto College’s commitment to the safety of students in our care. Volunteers must treat all students with respect and maintain professional boundaries at all times. Volunteers must also be aware that they have legal obligations with respect to the reporting of child abuse.

Volunteers are required to review the following documents and complete the online form below to acknowledge their understanding of the policies and processes Loreto College has implemented to protect our students.

Working with Children (WWC) Card

If you are a parent/carer of a current student, you do not require a WWC Card unless you are engaged in a paid coaching position.  All non-parent/carer volunteers (this includes grandparents of Loreto students) must have a valid Volunteer WWC Card. The volunteer cannot commence until the card has been sighted and recorded – ‘no card, no start’.  For further information on Working with Children Clearances please refer to the Blue Card Services website or contact the College’s Risk and Compliance Manager, Mrs Clare Cooper.

We sincerely thank our volunteers for their ongoing support of the College, particularly those parents/carers who are able to volunteer their time to assist in so many ways while remaining committed to the safety of children in our care.
