Career Development programs include Year 9 looking at the concept of a career, Year 10 investigating their career options and developing their SET Plan, Year 11 developing work skills and Year 12 students are offered support through guest speakers and individual career appointments as they make the transition from school.
Students have access to the Careers room where they can gather relevant information pertaining to various tertiary and other post school options.
Students also have the opportunity to access alternate pathways during the senior years of schooling. School based Traineeships and TAFE Certificate courses are available to those students wishing to obtain other qualifications in addition to their QCE. Year 11 and 12 students are regularly emailed school based traineeship and TAFE vacancies. Year 10 students are made aware of these options during senior study pathway sessions held in Personal Development classes.
Students wishing to access TAFE courses or School based Traineeships are invited to make an appointment with the Careers Counsellor to discuss possible options.
Students and parents are welcome to make an appointment with the Careers Counsellor. Please feel free to contact Mrs Loreyse Agnew-Green for more information or to book a meeting, agnewgreenl@loreto.qld.edu.au
