Loreto College Coorparoo is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Study of Religion Teacher.

About the role

The successful applicant will be required to teach Study of Religion to students in Years 11 & 12. The ability to teach Humanities and/or English will be advantageous. This is a full time, permanent position.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Cooperate with relevant Curriculum Leaders
  • Support colleagues in subject areas and work cooperatively with them
  • Follow the agreed Assessment and Reporting Policy
  • Keep accurate records of assessment
  • Maintain an awareness of current educational developments and QCCA requirements

Founded in the Mary Ward tradition of excellence in the education of women, Loreto Coorparoo belongs to a global network of more than 150 schools, seven of which are located throughout Australia.

The College is seeking to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Deputy Principal – Curriculum, to join the College Leadership Team.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Ensure the provision of relevant, engaging and challenging curricular programs, in keeping with the mission and ethos of the College
  • Work closely with the Director of Studies
  • Liaise with the Curriculum Leader – Innovations and Technology in relation to the implementation of the Learning Management System
  • Lead and participate in committees as required
  • Work in partnership with other Deputies and Directors
  • Ensure that the educational goals, activities and planning are evaluated against the Loreto Schools of Australia Mission Statement
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of College policies and procedures for the Queensland Certificate of Education

Skills and experience

As a member of the College Leadership Team, the successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated the capacity to provide curriculum leadership leading to the achievement of outcomes which maximise the potential of each student
  • Demonstrated the capacity to operate at a strategic level to provide a contemporary curriculum  which meets the Strategic Plan of the College

  • Demonstrated the ability to develop, implement and review appropriate policy and procedures relevant to curriculum
  • Demonstrated a strong understanding of relevant and contemporary educational research, particularly relevant to curriculum, teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated a thorough understanding and implementation of relevant ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills with key stakeholders
