Established in 2019, these awards have been created to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the College’s alumni for one or more of the following areas: professional, business, academic, research, government, sport, social justice and contributions to the community at local, state, national and/or international levels.

Award Categories

Each year, alumni may be nominated for the following awards:

  • Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Young Alumnus of the Year
  • Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Alumnus of the Year

Nomination Guidelines

Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Young Alumnus of the Year

All candidates aged up to and including 35 years of age at the time of nomination may be considered for the Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year Award. Current students cannot be recognised within this award; the focus is predominantly on achievements occurring after graduation from the College.

Nominees must comply with the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have studied at Loreto College Coorparoo for a minimum of three years and/or have graduated from the College at the end of Year 12
  • Demonstration of on-going, high level of achievement in their field and in their service to the community
  • Previously nominated Past Pupils who were unsuccessful in winning an award may be renominated

Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Alumnus of the Year

All candidates aged 36 years and over at the time of nomination may be considered for the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award.

Nominees must comply with the following eligibility criteria:

  • They must have studied at Loreto College Coorparoo for a minimum of three years and/or have graduated from the College at the end of Year 12
  • Demonstration of on-going, high level of achievement in their field and in their service to the community
  • Previously nominated Past Pupils who were unsuccessful in winning an award may be renominated

Award Winner Selection Process

The selection process is at the discretion of the Principal. A Principal’s Management Committee may be formed to assist the Principal. If any nominators or nominees are on the selection panel, then this interest should be declared and the person concerned must withdraw from the selection process.

All nominees will be notified within one week of the closing date regarding receipt of their nomination.
Awards will not be awarded posthumously, unless otherwise approved by the Award Winner Selection Committee.

Awards Ceremony

The Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Young Alumnus of the Year will be awarded at the Mother/Daughter Breakfast held in May each year.

The Outstanding Loreto College Coorparoo Alumni of the Year will be awarded at the Ceremony of Excellence held in October.


Nominations

Nominations can be made by any member of the public, including past and present staff, students and parents. Individuals may nominate himself/herself.

Nominations for the Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year Award open in February and close in March each year.

Nominations for the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year Award open in April and close in August each year.
