Year 5 2025 and Year 6 2026

As we move towards our centenary celebrations in 2028, Loreto College Coorparoo is very excited to announce that we have received accreditation to re-introduce the primary years of Year 5 and 6.

We will welcome additional students and families to our school community through the introduction of Year 5 in 2025 and Year 6 in 2026. We will continue to offer a larger student intake in Year 7 2027 and beyond.

Year 5 and Year 6 Junior School

To accommodate our new junior school and to provide contemporary learning areas for our students across Years 7 to 12, we are undertaking approval processes for the first stage of our Master Plan. In consultation with specialist building and design experts, we will ensure our new build best suits the site’s capacity, while also minimising impacts to the school, environment, and neighbouring community.

Teaching & Learning

Years 5 and 6 curriculum will be based on the Australian Curriculum and supported by both the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA).

Year 5 and 6 students will join an international network of friendship that shares the vision of an education designed to liberate, empower and motivate students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity in loving and responsible service. We will extend to our younger students our intent that they will become women who love and seek learning.

To reflect the unique academic, social and pastoral care needs of our junior school cohort, our Years 5 and 6 students will learn within purpose-designed classrooms and facilities with specialist teachers.

Our award-winning teaching and learning framework coupled with our rich extra-curricular program across Sport, Culture and Service will support students to benefit from their Loreto education.

We are committed to upholding in our Junior School the same high standards of education that saw us recognised as excellence awardees in 2021 and 2022 for best professional learning program and best remote learning program respectively in the Australian Education Awards.

Enrolment Timeline

Please note that if an enrolment application for Year 5 is unsuccessful, you will automatically be considered for Year 7 entry.
